Ministries

Below are some of the opportunities Saint Michael's offers as a way to connect, give back and make a difference. If you'd like to help, contact us at  [email protected].
  • Adult Forums — Classes and resources that help adults deepen their biblical knowledge, learn a new spiritual discipline or find comfort and inspiration.
  • Altar Guild — Members care for the parish's altar linens, vestments and vessels  and prepare the sanctuary for the Holy Eucharist.
  • Card ministry — Reaching out to parish members through notes and greeting cards to celebrate joyful occasions and offer encouragement and sympathy during difficult ones.  “Gracious words are a honeycomb; sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” (Proverbs, 16:24).
  • Children's Chapel — Held for our younger parishioners during the first portion of Sunday worship, Children's Chapel includes a brief reflection on the day's scripture lesson followed by a fun activity.
  • Church sign — Members update the sign outside St. Michael's to invite the community to worship with us.
  • Flowers — Brighten the sanctuary with flowers to celebrate and honor loved ones.
  • Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEM) — Laypeople who are licensed by the bishop to administer the Eucharist's consecrated elements.
  • Living Our Faith — Held each autumn, this program focuses on how we give back to God by sharing our gifts of time (volunteering), talent (abilities) and treasure (prosperity) with others.
  • Mary and Martha Guild — Members serve coffee and snacks after worship service and other parish events.
  • Music and Choir — Provide music during the Holy Eucharist.
  • Proclaimers — Read the word of the Lord during the Holy Eucharist.
  • Prayer shawl ministry — Our knitting team members create gifts of comfort and hope.
  • Service on Saturdays (SOS)— Held every third Saturday of the month, this event provides a free luncheon and food bags for the community.
  • St. Michael’s Family Garden — Located on the northeast side of our property, our community garden grows vegetables and flowers to share with all.
  • Supper Club — An opportunity to become better acquainted with other parish members, this potluck dinner is held on the second Friday of each month.
